Freight Finder

Freight Finder Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026. This policy replaces the earlier version dated March 9, 2025.

Freight Finder is a load board app for iPhone and Android made by 1771 Co ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. The short version: the app needs your location to show loads near you, keeps an optional account if you create one, uses a few third-party services to run subscriptions, notifications and advertising measurement, and never sells your personal information.

1. Information the app collects

Location

With your permission, the app reads your device's current location while you are using it, to sort loads by distance from your truck, draw the map around you, and pick which loads go into your daily load alerts. We store only your most recent coordinates and the time they were recorded, in our database, so that alerts can be sent while the app is closed. We do not track your location in the background and we do not keep a history of where you have been. You can turn location off in your device settings at any time; the app then falls back to sorting by rate.

Account information (optional)

You can browse loads without an account. If you create one, we store the email address and password you sign up with (the password is handled by Firebase Authentication and never stored in a form we can read), the date the account was created, your alert preferences, your cost-per-mile setting, your last location, your push notification token, and whether you hold an active subscription.

Anonymous device record

When the app is first installed it generates a random identifier for the device. We use it, whether or not you have an account, to store your push notification token, your last location for alerts, and a few engagement counters (number of sessions, loads viewed, shippers contacted, and whether the review prompt has been shown). This identifier is not derived from your phone's hardware or advertising IDs, and a reinstall generates a new one.

Subscription status

If you subscribe to Premium, Apple or Google process the payment. We never see your card or bank details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives the purchase receipt, an anonymous RevenueCat identifier and, if you are signed in, your account identifier, and tells the app whether your subscription is active.

Usage and crash information

The app increments daily aggregate counters (for example how many times the app was opened or a load was viewed across all users) that contain no identifiers. If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error in a production build, it records the error message, the screen it came from, your platform (iOS or Android) and the app version. We use this only to fix bugs.

Calls to shippers

Tapping Call Now opens your phone's dialer. We record that a contact was made, for the engagement counters above, but we do not record, listen to, or store the call itself or the number you dialled.

2. How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your location or contact details for advertising.

3. Third parties we share information with

We use the following service providers. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job and is bound by its own privacy policy.

ServiceWhat it doesWhat it receives
Google FirebaseHosts our database and sign-in (servers in the United States)Everything listed in section 1 that we store

The Meta SDK is the only service that uses information for advertising purposes. You can limit it on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and on Android under Settings → Google → Ads (reset or delete your advertising ID). Under some state privacy laws this sharing may count as "sharing" for cross-context advertising; those device settings are the opt-out.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves.

4. Load postings and shipper information

The loads in the app are postings that shippers and brokers make publicly, including business names and phone numbers. We collect them from public load boards and refresh them every hour. If you are a shipper or broker and want a posting removed or corrected, email us and we will take it down.

5. How long we keep information

6. Security

Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Our database is protected by access rules so that only your signed-in session can read or change your own account data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be lost or accessed without authorization.

7. Your choices and rights

Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places with privacy laws have additional rights, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority. We honour these requests for everyone regardless of where you live. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.

8. This website

freightfinder.app uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google sets its own cookies for this and may collect your IP address and device information under Google's privacy policy. The site sets no other cookies. Links to the App Store and Google Play take you to Apple's and Google's sites, which have their own policies.

9. Children

Freight Finder is a tool for commercial drivers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. International users

Our services are operated from the United States and information is stored there. If you use the app from outside the United States, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will also notify you in the app.
